As a quick update for anyone finding this post ... I rebuilt my Pi-Hole using the latest Raspberry Pi OS Lite (32 bit) and PH v6. Restored settings from a backup. Everything is running fine on a Raspberry Pi B+. My TV spyware is furious 😂

I had a much smoother experience once I did a fresh install of Raspberry Pi OS. Imported my settings from a backup and everything worked as expected.

Mine seems to be on 80. What caught me out was despite picking OpenDNS in the setup wizard my DNS resolver settings were empty. Which resulted in no internet for many of my devices. Once I ticked the boxes it's now running perfectly. Hooray!

I suspect the lighttpd was still running alongside the new built in webserver. Just reimaged the SD card, reinstalled Pi-Hole and imported some settings from a backup. All looking good so far.

I didn't realise the next update was a big version otherwise I would have waited. Got it running again but there are some weird issues. The shutdown/reboot/logout buttons are missing from the GUI and the API has changed so my custom oled screen script needs re-writing.

Native. I've just checked it and it is not responding at all so must have died in the night 😔

Just remember to lick that off before using!

The obvious one is to just use it as a low power compact desktop PC. Perfect for day to day tasks without the power consumption.

Next up would be retro gaming.

That's interesting. Not come across it before. I use Pushover alot for phone notifications. Are you able to compare the two services?

I hope you find it. It resonates with me because I've been tidying up and having to be pragmatic about "stuff" I haven't used in 5 years and am unlikely to use in the next. Or ever. But I hate throwing away stuff.

Sounds like my scrap wood and 13A fuse collection.

I found that the "repeat" feature gets stuck on with short files. I think because the Stop command gets blocked by the rapid incoming data on the UART every time the file finishes.

I've been playing with these modules. I started a draft blog post but got bogged down with various things. I had a lot of issues with the folder structure options, timing of commands and everything got more complicated with short mp3s.
