In any case, it's good to know where people stand on the position of Taiwan. From a rights-based perspective, you cannot deny people's basic rights to self-determination, especially not in the face of an entity (CCP) that exists by denying citizens to vote for their legitimacy.

Thing about pro-CCP people is they try to persuade you by preying on what they think are your fears, but when you insist on using logic, it falls apart and they then resort to calling you names or labeling you as evasive or illogical, even as it is they who display these traits.

Taiwan ah, if you are just going to spend good money to put these little, little stickers on top of a station control at a Bangkok BTS station, or next to a clock or station name signage, maybe don't bother? No context, no excitement—what waves are you creating here?

The recall has awakened the anxieties of many DPP supporters, but it's also an opportunity for the DPP government to review the vision for Taiwan.

相較於多數OECD國家，台灣的工資相對於其人均GDP過低，且房價過高。若台灣要與其他國家相當，工資應提高約50%，房價則應降低50%；若工資要與生活成本相符，則工資應翻倍。相較於台灣的民主指數，台灣工資也過低，顯示台灣的民主並未被充分運用來保障勞工的權益並提高工資。

You cannot say you want to protect Taiwan's sovereignty, but is yet unwilling to do more to reduce income inequality (more than is currently done)—if this is what is urgently needed in order to protect Taiwan's sovereignty.

After this recall, the key question is how the DPP government can create policies more aligned to the needs of middle-ground voters, and to win them over, so as to engender greater trust towards government, and strengthen Taiwan's response against external threats from the CCP.

民進黨支持者本就支持民進黨政府，民進黨也不會放棄對國安的重視。那麼，關鍵就在於：民進黨政府是否能夠推出更貼近中間選民需求的政策，贏得他們的信任，進而減少社會與政治對立，強化台灣社會對抗中共威脅的凝聚力與團結力量。

It means we have to be honest to ourselves about the problems facing Taiwan, such as its low wages & high housing prices & not try to conceal the problem, or couch it behind nice-looking statistics that do not meaningfully add to the lives of individuals.

What this recall reminds us is that we understand the threat of the CCP, and how it's linked to the KMT/TPP-dominated legislature. But we also need to understand the concerns of the neutral voters, and speak to them not only in a language they understand.
