Stoke by Nayland in the spring. John Constable painted the view very close to this spot over 200 years ago. Just added to my online shop. Perfect Christmas gift! 20" x 20", 51cm x 51cm.

The days feel so short at the moment. This was painted after sunset as the mist began to rise off the river. A barn owl flew right up to me, turning away at the last moment. You don't get that working in a studio.

I enjoyed Daisy Sims Hilditch's exhibition at the Portland Gallery last night. It's definitely worth seeing.

Combine it with a trip to Rob Pointon's show at Panter and Hall, and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters at the Mall Galleries for a great day in London.

I painted this amazing flowering cherry tree over a couple of days in a lovely warm spell a couple of years ago. It's been hanging in the studio since then.

Painting Thames barges at Pin Mill on the River Orwell. It was nice to see so many of the wonderful old boats there for the annual barge match.

Thatched barns and wheat stooks. The straw is used for thatching and the grain will be planted for next year's crop. This was painted back in the summer over two days. I went back a third time and the stooks had all gone!
