Boldy comfortably slides on minimalist sampled production often stripped completely of drums. There's nothing wrong with these tracks, but he's had several very similar projects with Alchemist that are more inspiring. Could use a guest appearance or some more varied styles of flow. #MWE

The vocals on this album will shake you to the core. Slower bluesy rock highlighted by explosions of Howard's emotional voice. This describes all but a couple tracks. Feels a bit formulaic at times, but certainly thoughtfully crafted. #MWE

Chilled out spacy synths with laid back understated vocals. I enjoyed one of the few up-tempo songs "Never Matter," but the rest of the album blends together a bit too much. Some perfectly fine grooves, but nothing notable after my first listen. #MWE

Lots of catchy vocals on up-tempo driving rhythms. Love the harmonies. Certainly more accessible than "Dear Science," there are moments like "Winter" that get start to feel somewhat simple and mildly-poppy, but the enjoyability is undeniable. #MWE

Not what I expected. There are a couple more standard punk songs, but a lot of slower stuff with beautifully layered vocals and instruments. Almost like a better version of Polyphonic Spree. One listen won't do it justice. Standout track "Family Tree" #MWE

Truly one of the most powerful and soulful voices to ever step into a recording booth. Luther delivers an album full of slap bass grooves that will have you shuffling your feet, as he pours his voice into stories of love. The one ballad, "House," is an all-time heart-breaker. #MWE

Full spacy avante-guard jazz. You can hear the stars twinkling on "Twilight." Tracks are full of reverb and horns that echo into deep dark space. I don't have the slightest idea what the most of the time signatures are. Not exactly for me, but I do enjoy the bouncing bassline on "Moon Beam." #MWE

SZA sings often about relationships past and present over fairly stripped down production. She uses her impressive range and drowns you with melisma on tracks that usually have no chorus. It feels like she's freestyling and it works. 2nd half feels a bit stale. Great album that may grow on me. #MWE

The rhythm section is very much front and center on many tracks, it's nearly impossible to not bob your head or do a little dance in your kitchen. A wide array of instruments are used including some appropriate orchestral string arrangements. Some of the tracks get stale after the first chorus. #MWE

Curtis' beautiful voice and story-telling are as spot on as always but in his final album he's backed production from Organized Noize and tracks with synths that are so much of an era (late-90s/early 00s) that they feel out of place to me. Several enjoyable tracks, but others felt overdone. #MWE

Alchemist can't miss. This shot isn't a swish, but the ball rolls around the rim and into the basket for a fine addition to his body of work. 2 Chains and Larry compliment each other nicely with lines that are humorous and understatedly boisterous. A good listen with few notable moments. #MWE

This isn't elevator music, just better versions of songs in a laid back jazzy setting. Green's single note noodling takes known melodies and plucks away at them however he feels inspired to on top of a bed of vibes that makes for a particularly dreamy and reflective collection of songs. #MWE

Close your eyes and let the grooves take you away. These Americana Funk jams are sure to hook you if you let them. The real stars of this album are the singers that elevate choruses and tackle simpler vocals (like on "Loose Booty") with pinpoint accuracy. #MWE

A sonic adventure that goes from boom-bap to trap to house, Doechii navigates the landscape with a versatile variety of various flows. No unnecessary guest appearances, intros or outros, a tight 47 minute album saturated with the undeniable talent of one of music's brightest new stars. #MWE

Filled with iconic funk grooves and backed by strings and horns that stab at all the perfect moments. Infectious latin-inspired rhythms. Mayfield's sings a vivid picture of the inner-city struggle. #MWE
