Picked up a Japanese version of Pokémon Pearl recently, for the sake of future shiny hunts. It's been fun making my way through the game without being able to read any of it. Occasionally, I've needed my translation app though, like to progress in the Underground side-quest for this old man...

First shiny of Safari Week 2025!
4238 encounters for a shiny Wobbuffet. Of course, the one encounter that I wasn't interested in finding, but a shiny is a shiny! That was around half-odds, so I sure can't complain.

I guess I haven't shared my setup yet. It feels kind of humble compared to some other hunters, but it fits my needs. A DS lite with Ruby, GBA SP with Sapphire, and my Micro with Emerald. All my childhood carts. The Micro even has a Shiny Charm made by my girlfriend.

Man, it's been a couple months since I've gotten to update this. Shiny Cyndaquil on HeartGold, a lucky streak in Sleep of 5 shinies in 3 weeks, and various Switch 2 Scarlet finds have distracted me lol
