We study the #ecology of #soil #microbes, how #communities depend on & respond to their #environment & run global #biogeochemistry; part of @MicroBioGeo_LU. biology.lu.se/johannes-rousk

Therefore, this year, we split all treatment plots and added P to each , to experimentally interrogate these intriguing suggestions, in work led by @agn-rzep.bsky.social backed by a strong team. What will we find?!

… in addition to chronic simulation of climate change (same annual rates of N snd litter) we also administer them in a punctuated way (triple annual dose every third year) in an attempt to compare smooth vs extreme variation between years…

9 years ago, we started the field experiment “MineField” to investigate how accelerated decomposition (N) and simulated shrub encroachment (litter) impacted the microbially controlled soil-atmosphere C balance…

We’re back in #Abisko, for our early summer campaign! We’re maintaining a series of #fieldexperiments that simulate different aspects of #arctic #climate #change, including #shrub #encroachment and arctic #greening, accelerated nitrogen cycling, summer #drought, and #warming! Stay tuned!

For our MBLU lab meeting this Friday, we were delighted to hear about visiting prof Yangui Su research and found many common interests! We’re looking forward to joint future endeavours to learn more about how the #climate regulates #microbial #functions in #soil!

What is the #ecosystem #carbon #budget consequences of #microbial #thermal #trait alignment to #warming? By combining clever #experimentation with incisive C modelling, @albertbrangari.bsky.social can explain the dampening of #soilC loss #egu25 meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU25/EGU25-23…

Yesterday, Honorine Dumontel explained how #reciprocal #transplantation #experiments in #tropical costs rica can help us understand how #microbial #communities align #thermal #trait distributions to the environment’s forcing. #egu25 meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU25/EGU25-...

For this week’s @MicroBioGeo_LU meeting we welcome our guest faculty: Qiuxiang Tian from Wuhan Botanical Garden. Qiuxiang will investigate how forest #EcM/#AMF dominance will impact the #microbial resource landcape, and consequences this will have for C and N cycles!
