Family, books, gardening. I fix things. 25 yr vet.
Brutal, heart-rending, and painful. Every American should read it and reflect.

When he's not sleeping, he demands to be the center of attention otherwise he's just bored and pissed off.

#SituationNowhere by @bobbymillertime.com is an absurd, bleak, and scary fun house mirror reflection of our own near future. Sometimes a little over the top but engaging enough to keep me going. About 3/4 through, I decided that this book exists in the same universe as "hobo with a shotgun". 4/5

Norby Janet/Isaac Asimov. 1985 or 1986. I was 12 or 13. I exclusively read out of the library then but I loved them so much I still have copies.

An interesting book I picked up in a used book store in SLO. Paper, Wasps and Packages. Privately printed in 1937 by the Container Corporation of America, it's a short history of paper making spanning Chinese development to Middle East/Islamic refinement to European mechanization. Pretty neat.

I've been traveling for the last few weeks and now I'm catching up on book posts. These came in different packages but these hardcovers make a nice pair. #BraveNewWeird vol 3 from @tenebrouspress.bsky.social and #RedLineChogagoHorrorStories from @frombeyondpress.bsky.social Can't wait to dig in.

I let a volunteer sunflower grow outside of one of my bedroom windows. My reward is a morning visit from a pair of lesser gold finches. Makes me happy. They look happy too.

I built this Flego (fake Lego) typewriter over the weekend and now I'm afraid to put the letter stickers on because I don't want to F it up.

The bottom 95% of American taxpayers are going to pay more taxes to fill the pockets of the wealthiest 5%. Is this what MAGA voted for?

Not the Christmas eve entertainment I was hoping for. As per tradition, there was blood. A belt and pulley later, it lives. All is well. Merry Christmas eve.

Note: As he always does, my supervisor Chewie made sure I was following all proper maintenance procedures.

Got my hardcovers of #BraveNewWeird 1 & 2 from @tenebrouspress.bsky.social The first was so good I couldn't pass up the chance to get a HC copy of the second. Of course, having a matching set is way cooler than not and I get to gift the paperback. #crosspost

Lookie at what I got a couple of days early courtesy of @shortwavebooks.bsky.social. The anthology Deathrealm Spirits and another in the Killer VHS series, Candy Cain Kills by @brianmcwriter.bsky.social. Love the special touches. Thanks a bunch! Looking forward to digging into both soon!

A beautiful young lady showed up this Friday and decided to hang out with my chickens and snack on my project plants. She is still here on Sunday so it must be a cool venue. I have to remember to keep the dogs out of that area now, at least until she moves on.
