What I’d like to know is why Mizelle is actively recruiting for DOJ when he left the department in the Fall.

Did an ICE watch training a few months ago and they went through our rights and what we can and cannot do. Then they went over what to actually do to avoid confrontation (or worse) and remain effective because they’re ignoring our rights.

Can an anonymous person be given a presidential pardon? Because if he can’t, the shooter may want to give up his identity so he can.

That’s a bunch of gobbledygook. It’s defined in the Constitution. Trump is a corrupt turd and we may end up with radically different governance but Congress, right now at least, can’t do what Galloway insists they do. It’s embarrassing, frankly.

Bet you didn’t know Bessent was a walk-on for Bobby Knight at Indiana.

It’s odd. He can frequently be insightful on some things but it’s getting harder to take his obsession with looks informing his views and frequent dismissiveness of his podcast partners. Plus, my increasing suspicion is he doesn’t really know how our government works on a basic level.

Only 20 minutes in but

—@profgalloway.com excusing/taking responsibility from Dokoupil, in part, bc he’s good-looking is worse than the fawning a couple years ago over Candace Owens bc she’s attractive.

—Congress cannot preemptively outlaw DJT pardons. How do you not know this?

Unbelievable.

Taking over Greenland makes sense if you plan to destroy NATO and completely break from Europe.

What exactly is a person supposed to do when a cutthroat lunatic with overwhelming power threatens their country? Her party won the last election so at least she’d be leading with legitimacy when she tries to curry favor.

It absolutely was not marketed that way. The entire marketing approach was to obscure what the show was about.

Had great atmosphere and effective special effects in the beginning but no momentum or tightness to it. I mean, why was Sam Neill in it at beginning? Then the last season added an obviously decimated budget to its general listlessness. Honestly don’t understand why they bothered.

It’s not a review, it’s about the exploration of grace in an unexpected place.

Cool. It’s not important to me how you or Tom view the movie. I shared the article because I thought it was interesting and unexpected. Did you read it?

This not an attempt to convince you otherwise but this Terry Teachout piece on Chasing Amy has stuck with me ever since it was published.

I was getting ready to quit Severance, as you did, after 5-6 episodes and then it promptly picked up and I’ve found it rewarding ever since. But I’d never push ppl to stick w/ it. Ofc, I also wouldn’t go on and on about how something others liked didn’t merit it. Both are pretty weird behaviors.

He quit but he‘s reading episode summaries so he can keep up the good fight for…what exactly I no longer understand.
December 21, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Ha! Hope you’re enjoying how they’re shooting your hometown. I don’t care about Tom’s criticism of the show—taste is subjective and I don’t look for such insights from him—but the way he‘s engaged and looked to tweak people is a bit of a window.

I don’t really get his enthusiasm for *repeatedly* lambasting the show but he did read something that seemed to confirm his assessment. He didn’t have the greater picture. Happens.

Unredacted Epstein documents will be destroyed and those who do it will be getting pardons. This will happen to incriminating docs across the government and it won’t be limited to Epstein. Kicker is, no meaning reform of the pardon power will come of it because we’re dysfunctional.

Gilligan said recently that he started conceiving the show well before he worked with Seehorn and reworked it after she began on BCS. Wasn’t clear how much it changed after switching the protagonist’s gender.

Zosia describes the planet’s likely physical make-up & admits that while they’ll likely never know what the inhabitants are actually like, the Others love them. In another scene she basically acknowledges they’re trying to distract Carol so that she doesn’t succeed in reversing/stopping them.

For what it’s worth, there’s a whole conversation about Kepler 22 in the most recent episode.

I saw only handful of episodes when it was running live and thought it was well executed but not terribly focused. So not terribly invested. Glad you sussed it out enough that you didn’t put as much into as it you might have.

I like you a lot and have gotten a ton from your writing and the attention you give to social media but it’s good to be reminded that we’re all basically children in the end.

I thought about that after my last reply. I can definitely see that I could be taken as suggesting that. Wasn’t. Only meant to indicate my q to you was sincere, not snarky.
