Finally seeing a game in Knoxville! Next summer I need to spend a week seeing Appy League and minor league games here.

Crew-11 is safely aboard the International Space Station. I am so thrilled and relieved. Seeing the launch live, watching my brave friend (and the first Grind poet in space) face the excitement and fear with such poise and eloquence, knowing that she's fulfilled a life dream... it is wonderful.

Crew-11 launch was scrubbed in the final seconds due to weather. Reminding myself that the process for keeping my friend safe worked today. Sounds like we may try tomorrow.

Drive clear across the state yesterday to see a ballgame in Bradenton FL. Met the mascot in Daytona on Sunday but he spent VERY little time on the concourse last night.

I know people hate on government inefficiency but what if every company made their products as well as NASA? This amazes me.

Kennedy Space Center. Continuing my week of childlike glee. This is AWESOME.

Daytona Beach tonight to see the Daytona Tortugas play the Palm Beach Cardinals. Met Sheldon, Shelly, and as a bonus, Bradenton’s Marty the Marauder!

I’m in Columbus GA tonight to see the Clingstones play the Chattanooga Lookouts. The Clingstones’ mascot is Fuzzy the Peach and I LOVE HIM.

Muddy Mudcat, my DUDE. One of the all time great mascots.

I’m at Five County Stadium today, home of the Carolina Mudcats. A surprising delight: there are a bunch of butterflies in the lower deck today, flitting around, enjoying the game.

I can’t believe I didn’t get a picture with these three while I was up there! What a knucklehead.

Love it love it love it! We have two black cats as well but they rarely consent to being photographed together. Spock likes to have all the attention to himself.

First improv show in almost a year— this one with a 101 class at Mettlesome. Great fun. I got to play a castaway on the island of Dr. Moreau, an 96-year-old Harrison Ford, a dead guy meeting God, and a man unwittingly participating in a parkour game show.

GREENSBORO: My beloved pal Marianne Gingher has a show at Artery on Friday (and through July 25). Come see the puppets that made Jabberbox Puppet Theater shows such a total delight.

From the moment I read BIG FISH, Daniel Wallace has been one of my literary heroes. Getting to work with him as his publisher has been one of the highlights of my life. BENEATH THE MOON AND LONG DEAD STARS, welcome to the world. bullcitypress.com/product/bene...

Chapel Hill friends: When the students evaporate in the summertime, my little trivia show (@triviaescapepod.com) has some more seating. Hope you'll come play one Tuesday at 8 pm at Rougarou on Henderson St.
