I hung one of my favorite publications in my new apartment today, y’all. 😃

I got a Philadelphia library card, and now I’m ready to take the city by storm.

I accidentally put my film camera through the TSA scanner (I know) and the scanner fucked up half my photos—and created this uncanny effect on a simple snapshot of Elliott Bay, in Seattle.

Anyway, I’m just gonna spend today reading this horror writer’s books—which includes a series about children battling otherworldly evils, without any problematic elements.

I took this photo as a silly little film reset but now I have the picture that encapsulates my writing aesthetic.

It’s fitting that on my last day in my home city, I get some film developed that has these snaps on it.

I am absolutely obsessed with the fact that Michael Shannon has a TAKE SHELTER poster in his bedroom.

It was a long work day, so I treated myself to a copy of @arammrjoian.bsky.social’s debut novel, WATERLINE.

I started reading it on the way home and, y’all, I am hooked.

I decided to get my first film camera.

Coming home to contributor copies of F(r)iction’s newest issue, which includes my short story “I Had a Dream About You,” was honestly an excellent way for a very hard (work) day to get a little bit better.

Small win for me today: this anthology for younger readers, featuring my @electriclit.bsky.social essay, arrived in the mail! I’m honestly delighted by the prospect that some of my writing might be inspiring to younger readers.
