Not quite. The 3p is the equivalent of fuel duty component contained within the price of fuel.
Rough calculation of fuel duty for a 35mpg ICE is about 6.7p per mile. Scale that up/down for different mpg.

Such binary views show a lack of understanding of the contributions made by many. You may well have a point about the minority. It is assumed business owners only pay dividend tax. They don't. They also pay corporation tax. It's cumulative. However we collectively do need to pay more tax.

It is likely that the focus of some elements of #budget25 will hurt private sector pensions (further disadvantages versus public sector pension). Also, private rents will go up.

This simply isnt true. Scotland doesn't own any of the generation capability and all the contracts would have to be honoured.
There may be a theoretical world where inconvenient truths didn't pre-exist, but they do and there would be no blank sheet starting point.
