Good idea. A little bit of water costs less than broken pipes and flooded homes.

That's so sad. I'm sorry that this happened to your sister and your family.

That's my Prime Minister! 🇨🇦

The government has already said that's not happening. I think the whole idea will just go away like most of Trump's other ideas.

Nothing makes me dive for the remote faster than seeing Jenning's face on CNN. He is responsible for the increase in popularity of MSNOW in my house.

Wow - what a beautiful photograph!

I suspect it was a simple bruise, which technically qualifies as 'internal bleeding.'

If I were in this reporter’s position, I would be angered that the WH Press Secretary spoke to me that way, and I would be tempted to respond in kind: a blaze of expletives that would ring through the halls as I was ejected forever from the WH.

Good thing he's not like me. He's got a great story.

I'm just going to leave this here.

Serious question for any doctors out there - could a bruise count as "internal bleeding?"

Yes. This is exactly what is going on.

I think that's a little harsh. She's trying to save her country and this prize is something that appeals to Trump's vanity. He left Maduro's people in power and she's trying to get them out. And you can't officially transfer a Nobel Prize - she would know that. Trump looks like a fool, too.

Rebuilding Venezuela’s oil sector will take years.

In the short and medium term, the production most likely disrupted is Venezuela’s, not Canada’s. And if Venezuelan supply returns, that only strengthens the case for a West Coast pipeline to reach Asia.

Even despotic regimes depend on consent and institutions.

Removing one person doesn’t guarantee legitimacy or control.
History is brutal: Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya. Panama worked only because it was small and tightly scoped.

Is Venezuela more like Panama?

Maria Corina Machado, an internationally recognized democracy leader, was dismissed by President Trump as lacking popular support. Edmundo González is widely believed to have won the 2024 election.

Yet US actions have de facto left a Maduro-aligned insider in power.

The Trump Administration isn’t known for building or sustaining institutions.

Venezuela has been disrupted, the President says the US will “run it,” yet oil companies reportedly had no warning and show little interest in investing in an unstable country.

There is no credible transition plan.

Maybe. But don’t confuse a successful military operation with a successful political or economic outcome.

Operation Absolute Resolve was executed by professional US military forces.

Removing Maduro physically was the easy part.
What comes next is much harder.
