Reminder in this morning’s Politico email that the UK is still exporting F-35 fighter jet components to Israel. Write to David Lammy to ask for a full arms embargo now: action.friendsoftheearth.uk/target/tell-...

On a more serious note, good to be able to talk to media about why airport expansion is a terrible idea – and not the way to the stronger economy that’s needed. Let’s get behind sustainable, green growth that’s good for people’s pockets and our planet.

Oh hi 2020, think we might have left some common sense in you?

Been watching COP29 with grim fascination. It’s like a cross between a fossil fuel trade fair and a gathering of officials whose objective is to avoid committing to a level of climate finance that would leave us with a fighting chance of tackling climate breakdown.

I don’t think Crisis are on here, so reposting from LinkedIn – anyone know anyone with a spare fridge van?

Sad I can’t be there but proud that @friends-earth.bsky.social are joining the #MarchforGlobalClimateJustice today – against fossil fuels, for climate reparations and in solidarity with Palestine. Thank you to everybody taking part and calling for the climate justice so urgently needed globally.

I’m spending tomorrow at a hedgehog first aid and assessment course, which I’m simultaneously looking forward to and wondering what on earth I’ve let myself in for…

So good to be a part of Friends of the Earth’s presence at today’s Stand Up to Racism demo in London. We stand together now and always to oppose racism and oppression.

Incredibly disappointed by the High Court ruling on our case against the government’s climate adaptation plan. Friends of the Earth took the case because we don’t think the plan does enough to protect communities from the impacts of climate change, with disabled & older people particularly at risk.

See you there?

We need to stop advertising the fossil fuels that are fuelling climate breakdown on our transport network. Credit to Adfree Cities (and image credit to Chris Venables of @greenalliance.bsky.social) for calling out these BP ads in Westminster tube station.

Lovely to see another rush of charity/campaigning people here! May your feeds be full of interesting content. And hedgehogs.

Although it’s appalling that it’s needed, I’m looking forward to joining this demo against racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism on 26 October.

Grateful to Bluesky as I had totally forgotten I meant to buy this after departing The Other Place. Looking forward to reading!

Last week was Cycle to School Week, and for me it was also New Bike Week. Have I mentioned how e-cargo bikes are the bee’s knees?
