March wrap up. A huge 7 more books than Feb, March was a big reading month. Highlights were The Gathering by C.J Tudor, One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig, Listen For the Lie by Amy Tintera and These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant. March was heavy on fantasy and romance apparently.

February wrap up. 3 books less than Jan, but darker sci-fi vibes. Highlights were The Gathering by C.J. Tudor, perfect mix of vampire horror meets Nordic noir. Red Rising by Pierce Brown, though I had issues with the chauvenism, I enjoyed the socialist themes & was unadulterated escapism

Little late with my January wrap up, been in a LC crash the past couple of weeks. It's been a Scotland/Jacobite themed historical fiction mood apparently this month. Highlights were Jasper Fforde & Kate Foster. February has started with non-fiction in the form of David Mitchell's Unruly

Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot is apparently afoot with Sarah Michelle Gellar, what are we all thinking? Im not usually one for a remake, but I'm surprised to find myself excited by this plan

Anyone else discovered the magiclal surreal delight that is One Hundred Years of Solitude on Netflix yet or just me? I literally fell upon it, and I'm really enjoying it 6 episodes in, but haven't heard anything about it anywhere. Always been tempted by the book but it seems to be a love/hate thing

"I'm meeeeelllllting", the snow cried to me, so I decided to go for a little local walk before it all disappears. No snowdrops yet, but a few robins said hello

Snow has fallen in Derbyshire over night, tempted by a winter walk but the reality is a coffee and a great book and enjoying the window view, whilst awaiting my boys arrival home after the weekend spent at their Dads. Plan is to get them both settled into a routine before school starts tomorrow

Started re-reading Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde as I've finally got my hands on the follow up, Red Side Story, that I've been waiting an age for (I read it around the time of my sons birth, and he's 13 in January 😩). So excited, I've been waiting for the perfect time and mood to begin

If I'm honest I'm sick of being strong, strong in the face of everything, isnt she so strong, I wish I was as strong as you, how do you get so strong? I'm not doing that anymore, I'm finishing soft, and simple and peaceful if I can help it, and if that comes with fireplace toast, then let it come

Belated day trip to York with a friend, as we were too poorly to make the Christmas Markets earlier this month. Beautiful city, architecture and sights, one of my favourite places, and the mist gave it a little extra spook

Yearly visit to the panto yesterday at Nottingham Playhouse, this year's production was Jack and the Beanstalk. We always go to this production as its more traditional, and I like to support the Playhouse. Do they have pantomimes outside of the UK or is this one of our unique little traditions?
