I used to get written as a cashier up if I failed to greet customers, scanned too slow, didn't bag, was "rude" (aka no small talk,) visibly ate or drank anything at my register, so on.

Bullying breaks people. Sometimes it turns inward, sometimes it turns outward, but it always sucks for everyone involved. Being kinder to each other would solve a lot of problems, but the crabs in the bucket just have to tear each other down.

I would give almost anything to know in advance that gluten and other inflammatory proteins were slowly destroying my guts and I would eventually be unable to eat most food. Maybe if I could cut some of it early, I wouldn't have to be so restricted now.
