I'm just a person with a lot of experiences and opinions. Sometimes I talk about them. I'm often appalled, but rarely shocked.
She/her, gay for my 🏳️‍⚧️ wife, atheist, leftist, specialized dietary needs, neurodivergent, concerned about others, childfree. Etc.
Pinned
Things that should not be profit-driven:
Law enforcement
Prisons
Military or its hardware
Roads/infrastructure
Education
Public transportation
Health care (including pharmaceutical research)
Burial/cremation
Mandated car insurance
Basic shelter, nutrition, water, and clothing.
I used to get written as a cashier up if I failed to greet customers, scanned too slow, didn't bag, was "rude" (aka no small talk,) visibly ate or drank anything at my register, so on.

Now I'm considered entitled if I want my cashier to put stuff directly in the bag instead of on the counter.

Extraordinarily unintelligent design in humans:

Most mammals go through something called estrous after ovulation, where uterine blood is reabsorbed if an embryo doesn't implant.

Instead, we expel it. And it fucking sucks.

Extraordinarily unintelligent design in humans:

If you have ovaries, estrogen regulates your internal thermostat. And then it stops being as regular when you hit middle age so you get wonky signals that turn that thermostat way up or way down for no good reason! 😭

(This SUCKS)

Extraordinarily unintelligent design in humans:

Half the population have easily-infected mucus membranes right next to waste disposal and the other half have urethras through a gland that gets larger throughout life.

Lottery tickets are Schrodinger's money, and I think that's why people like gambling in general

Bullying breaks people. Sometimes it turns inward, sometimes it turns outward, but it always sucks for everyone involved. Being kinder to each other would solve a lot of problems, but the crabs in the bucket just have to tear each other down.

Shocked face.

I would give almost anything to know in advance that gluten and other inflammatory proteins were slowly destroying my guts and I would eventually be unable to eat most food. Maybe if I could cut some of it early, I wouldn't have to be so restricted now.

I miss chocolate.

I would much rather everyone who is purportedly "faking for attention" gets attention than a single person die of neglect.

(Also, if you think someone is faking anything "for attention," you probably just don't believe in experiences other than your own and you suck.)

I'm old enough to remember all the cries of "the Democrats are trying, but nothing can pass the Senate without a supermajority! There's nothing we can do about it!"

There clearly was.

The ratchet effect is fcking real. Stop defending them.

The spring time change literally kills people. (It causes other problems, too, but I think those are less important than all the death.)

Science: Thousands of People Will Die This Weekend Because of Daylight Saving Time
Research shows the cost -- both human and economic -- of daylight saving time is incredibly high.

Dems just openly saying "kick the left out of the party," now.

This is my shocked face. 😐
New: Last month, a group of moderate Democratic consultants, campaign staffers, elected officials & party leaders gathered in Loudoun County, Virginia, for a retreat where they plotted their party’s comeback.

We got their takeaways. t.co/bEwlg4jbtM

If you actually think funding military power is more important to your well-being than food, shelter, water, and healthcare, you're living in a world I can't fathom.

I could not give fewer shirts about football, but I'm always a fan of karma
This is payback for Harrison Butker being such a toxic butthead.

I believe that people who declare they are Christians and spread their hateful ideology under that banner, are in fact Christians.

To people who declare that these are not true Christians: there is literally an ancient fallacy for that. They are. Your argument is invalid. Find better ones.

This is one of the best breakdowns I've seen on millennial economics. I've said before, it's not about the coffee and avocados, it's the cost of living, but this person explains why SO well.

There is not a single patriot who's willing to protect this country in D.C.

You cannot convince me otherwise and I will not be elaborating.

Please...if you would be so kind as to help a functionally-orphaned trans woman get the last of her belongings back into her hands, I will be forever and always grateful. It will mean the world.

And whether you donate or not, boosting the signal will also be deeply appreciated.

Thank you 💖

To be clear, I am cutting him out because he openly supports and defends the fascist regime that just came into power. Denied the sieg heil, insists the Dear Cheeto won't bring any LGBTQ folk to harm, all the usual far-right evangelical apologist bullshit. This isn't just spite.

I've never liked asking for monetary help, but...

I am cutting my father out of my life, but he's still holding on to a few of my personal effects (from when I moved across country). I want them back, but shipping them is expensive.

If you can, please help and signal-boost.

I'm thankfully past this part of my life, but I like to reiterate for those who might not have heard it before: 🧵

Abuse is not just physical. Attitudes like "well they don't hit me" or "no bruises, no abuse" or anything along those lines are cultural gaslighting and need to stop.
