My dad loved to grow dahlias in the UK. I took photos of monarch butterflies on zinnias in the Twin Cities during September. One day there were 13 monarchs.

So, I learned yesterday that I am not the only 70-something with a crush on Mamdani. 😍

My son was in Paris last week. I had told him to eat lots of baguettes and croissants for me. Consequently, no photos emailed of things like the Eiffel Tower and the Notre Dame. Rather, these beauties. 😍🤣

So much depraved cruelty & inhumanity from Trump & every one of these thugs. I've been thinking about accountability for evil actions. If there is reincarnation with karma, there would be accountability. Pastor Michael Woolf spoke of it (1st screenshot). As did Pope Leo (2nd screenshot).

Against my better judgement & realizing that it is the uncoolest post I've ever done, but this discussion -- which I previously responded to by discussing my own many unofficial "aunties" growing up in the UK in the 50s & 60s -- reminds me of this. I won't include G&S music, tho I quite like it. 🎶😬😀

I worked in early childhood education In New Mexico for many years, in various capacities -- classroom teacher (public and private settings), preschool director, parent support, adult educator. This is great.

I'm having the new curate over for dinner, just like in Some Tame Gazelle by Barbara Pym. (Pym is one of my favorite authors. I wonder if there are any other Pym-lovers on Bluesky.)

Lovely. I had a nice autumnal photo from when I lived in Northumberland, UK in 2007, but I don't have it stored on my laptop now. At that time, I was into going for walks, many coastal, and turning the photos I took into little photo montage videos. This is a hazy screenshot from my YouTube channel.

I've been thinking about LOTR too. This was a reply I wrote to the weekend posting of all the Aryan art posted by the US DOL on X since approximately Labor Day.

I owned the small ground floor apartment of a stone 1880s house in Northumberland, UK for a few years from 2007. It was Grade II listed on the Historic Register. From Wiki and for no particular reason 😬:

812,000 Arizonans don't have a representative right now because Republicans refuse to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva. The GOP must stop playing games with our democracy.

I like that. A parallel concept to an early childhood theory. (This is going back quite a few years to when I was a mature student in grad school and working in early childhood classrooms.)

I really value your posting. As a non-Catholic, I also really value Pope Leo's words. Pinned to my profile is a long thread (14 posts +) full of links to articles about him and the varied topics he is addressing. It's getting too long. Maybe I should just make my whole page about his statements.

Daily I feel gratitude to the ICE protesters standing up for humanity; for the reporters telling the stories; for lawyers & judges working through the courts; for faith leaders who are on the front lines & preaching; for community members supporting their neighbors, & for Pope Leo speaking out too.

Mike Johnson refuses to swear in Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva — because her vote could force the House to release the Epstein Files. The GOP is doing everything they can to keep Trump's Epstein cover-up going.

I made a long thread about Pope Leo last week with links to articles on what he is speaking about, including the poor, immigrants, climate change, the free press, participatory democracy, and plans to break up Opus Dei. Here's a new Guardian article about him.

On the @indivisible.org mass call: tell your #NoKings stories. I already had.😊 I live in a senior building, & we have a shelf by our doors -- my shelf display. Three fellow residents already asked me to send them the link to the No Kings 2 video. youtu.be/mG8FK3JxZNI @indivistwincities.bsky.social
