i see similar complaints about mafuyu when an event is kanamafu centric and it's so scary to me that so many people see vulnerable teenage girls like mizuki and mafuyu at their worst moment and think they haven't "earned" help bc they think they're a burden and see relationships as transactional

RIGHT??? I wish people would comprehend the words they read. It makes me so sad that like, no one seems to truly care about the crafting of the story beyond a few dozen of us. It's so well-done and nobody appreciates it because it's not something that Makes Them Comfy And Is Easily Digestible

YEAH very true. I think maybe a lot of people did not quite catch that Mizuki's fears re: how her friends would treat her were. Very much not irrational. I think so many fans had a relatively decent and safe coming-out that they forget that this is a luxury many don't get

I feel insane for bringing up september eleventh 2001 from real life on a post about anime girls but I do genuinely think that young ppl in the imperial core Completely Missing The Point Of Turning Tragedies Into Memes has a significant hand in why they're so callous about their blorbita's tragedy

they saw Famous Great Tragedy 9/11 being joked about to the extent that it is and just took it as "Ohhh okay suffering is funny :)" instead of like. Seeing the obvious reason for making fun of it (the US using it as "reason" to commit atrocities that reach far beyond the initial event's casualties)

I think that certainly displays a lack of understanding of Why we laugh at certain things yk. If you're going to make fun of a tragedy, there does have to be, like, a good reason, or you're just being mean and not getting it.

Like idk it certainly says something about the user's reading comprehension (or lack thereof) if they read That story and are joking about it. I get that joking and memeing about bad things is kinda normalized in net culture these days, but just. Joking about Any negative situation... well.
