@chrislhayes.bsky.social: "The President of the United States really does seem hellbent on intentionally destroying the U.S. economy. And even after everything we have seen, there are still some folks—in fact some very powerful, wealthy people—who have not really come to terms with this."

This whole clip is truly unbelievably great. I am genuinely astounded by how good this is.
Pritzker: The reckoning is here. And now that this culture of timidity is on display, these same do-nothing Democrats want to blame our losses on the defense of Black people, trans kids, and immigrants, instead of on their own lack of guts and gumption.

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

And there it is. Putin’s lifelong dream. After years of relentless Russian propaganda, now fully embraced by the American president and the world’s richest oligarch, millions of Americans are convinced that this is a good plan because Europe is an enemy and Putin is our friend.

Mass firings, shutting down critical services, blowing up our alliances, crashing the markets, encouraging inflation...

These aren't the actions of a political party aspiring to get reelected.

These are the actions of an authoritarian regime that does not intend to honor elections ever again.

To every Trump supporter calling me a traitor because I’m “rooting” against my own country: When my own country is on the wrong side in a fight for freedom, sovereignty and democracy, I will root against my own country. Every single time. If that makes me a traitor, so be it.

DONALD TRUMP'S TO-DO LIST

1. Invite that guy who runs Ukraine for a "negotiation." ✔️
2. The VP guy and me ambush him. ✔️
3. This will make Europe say bad things about America.✔️
4. That is a perfect excuse to retaliate against them.
5. Pull out of NATO.
6. Get a real nice call from Putin. ❤️

When I went to Congress as a Republican a few years back, I figured out in about one afternoon that Republicans don’t give a shit about the debt & deficits. 💯 this.👇
Republicans don’t give a shit about deficits. It’s a cudgel they use when Democrats are in power. That’s it. Period.

These “principles,” including small government, liberty, social conservatism, they’re all cudgels. The quicker people understand that the better.

Musk’s supporters believe that, through tech wizardry and sheer willpower, he’s slashing the federal deficit in a way that has eluded politicians for years. But this narrative has a glaring flaw: The Economist’s review of official data shows that his efforts have scarcely made a dent in spending.
Elon Musk is failing to cut American spending
DOGE has so far disrupted everything in government bar the deficit
