New White Lotus has a lot of promise, even if I miss the old theme song and Jennifer Coolidge. Love a bunch of monkey b-roll! Bold of Patty Schwartz to carry on the tradition of hanging dong in Ep 1. I hope Carrie Coon and the little boy end up drunkenly hooking up, kinda feels like it could happen.

Never played anything like it, and think its mind-bending lore will be rattling around my head for a while. We love to see a big swing! Excited to work my way through the rest of the Remedy library and find out what this dang Federal Bureau of Control is up to, that janitor guy seems pretty chill.

I’m a little late to the party but just finished Alan Wake II and man, what a game. Unforgettable experience, cool to see this kinda postmodern meta-narrative done so SLICKLY. Worthy of the Twin Peaks x True Detective comparisons while totally doing its own thing. 10/10.

1. the iron claw
so supremely my shit. musclebound himbos caught in an epic odyssey of tragedy and interpersonal family drama. zac efron is built like a goddamn gorilla and made me cry like a schoolgirl. everyone involved in the making of this film deserves an oscar.

2. killers of the flower moon
scorsese’s still got it, can’t believe this didn’t sweep awards szn. equal parts beautiful and brutal. crazy and perfect score by robbie robertston. love it when leo goes full moron.

3. john wick chapter 4
it’s time we admit keanu is the white jackie chan. probably the closest any american film has come to matching a classic golden harvest beat-em-up. donnie yen goes full looney tunes and the final paris setpiece is an all-timer in a franchise full of them.

4. infinity pool
now THIS is a pervert movie. mia goth is a sexy nightmare lady and alexander skarsgard crawls around on all fours and barks like a dog. my kind of vacation!! curious to see where baby cronenberg goes next, he’s got his daddy’s juice.

5. talk to me
so authentically fun and stressful and scary. great cast of kids, ghosts are spooky as hell, and the hand is an instantly iconic horror prop. miranda otto a strong runner up for milf of the year.

6. oppenheimer
its got a big ol’ bomb and that’s good enough for me. love watching a nerd follow his dreams. a testament to nolan's ability that a movie this long about theoretical physics can be a box office hit, my theatre was full of morons

7. blackberry
perfect three act structure. howerton fully commits and kills it, the nhl board room scene will go down as one of the best of the year. matt johnson should be allowed to keep make whatever he wants forever.

8. barbie
too bad all of our capital-C comedies have to be corporate products now, but at least this one has some jokes to laugh at! gosling was so good i bleached my hair. nice to see a universally praised mainstream movie for little girls is still willing to go this misogynist, gives me hope.

9. godzilla minus one
good ol’ fashioned monster mash ‘em up. toho’s still got it! godzilla would probably give me ptsd too tbh. wish king kong showed up at the end.

10. saltburn
baby’s first pervert movie. tries a little too hard and isn’t nearly horny enough to warrant its existence, but it looks really pretty and elordi and keoghan are both fun to watch. it’s set in 2007 for absolutely no reason and that’s neat! rosamund pike for milf of the year
