After losing my darling hound before Xmas, I was to have a respectful mourning period before welcoming home another good boy/girl. We're about five weeks in to having this lovey about. He had a rough start in life & we're working on some issues. More sniffer hound than sight hound & full of joy.

First Xmas with the in-laws in more than a decade. Suffolk coast & the North Sea are a little different to the Waitematā. Some brave souls enjoyed a winter swim.

My darling hound died this week. He’d been doing so well until just a few weeks ago & then age caught up with him & he declined quickly. Here he is in younger days while we enjoyed a post-walk coffee at a now gone local. #nzpets

Grey Lynn Library is where they named their loo John, after then then PM & where you could ask for the John Key if you needed to spend a penny. I don’t know what it means, but I like that someone has analogue posted rather than yelled it out into the www void. Which of course is what I’m doing now. Oh dear. We are a bunch of contradictions. Tree label for Metasequoia with care instructions, located in Grey Lynn Park. I’m not sure why they’ve planted several of these non native but glorious trees. I’m sure there’s some logic. Maybe it’s to do with shade, promoting this park as a safe area to flood, trees that will help to manage so much water. This area was badly affected in the early 2023 floods.
