I’ve been saying this since Trump was elected… his ideas are counter to our understanding of economics… even conservative economists disagree with him.
A top economics reporter goes off script on national TV: “I am going to say this at risk of my job, but what President Trump is doing is insane.”

The press secretary called tariffs a “tax on our enemies” and half of this country claps in excitement. I just don’t understand how some people’s minds work. Trading partners aren’t enemies.

Imagine if HP said you had to install an HP app on your computer, and every time you wanted to print a document in Microsoft Word, you had to have Word transfer that document to the HP app, then the HP app would be the only thing allowed to actually send the print job off.
