I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

State budget is out.

FL is still allocating a recurring $3.77M for the state “transparency tool” to further empower the <100 people looking to ban books in our state.

Also, $6.75M in recurring Civics coaching/PD + $10M in non-recurring for training.

Page 36 of the budget (available to read in full at the link provided in the post) includes the following: From the funds in Specific Appropriation 139, $3,777,000 in funds from the General recurring Revenue Fund is provided to the Department of Education for the ongoing operational costs associated with providing a statewide, centralized transparency tool, as provided 2023-39, Florida, that provides access to instructional materials, educational resources, media materials to parents, school district, and school staff. Pages 24-25 of the budget (available in full at the link provided) names the following: From the funds in Specific Appropriation 106, $4,000,000 in recurring funds is provided to the Department of Education for the Civics Literacy Captains and Coaches Initiatives. From funds in Specific Appropriation 106, $2,750,000 in recurring is provided to the Department of Education Professional Development Initiative. From the funds in Specific Appropriation 106, $10,000,000 in nonrecurring funds is provided to the Department of Education for the Florida Civics Seal of Excellence Program. The amount of the stipend is $3,000 for completing the Florida Seal of Excellence endorsement coursework.
