I am sorry and angry to see Stephen Colbert and the Late Show get canceled, almost certainly because of pressure from the Trump White House on CBS and their corporate parent. Stephen was smart, funny and kind, and deserved better. 1/2

Tonight's viewing: Threads (1984) A BBC production that offers a grim and realistic view of the world during and after a nuclear war. A more effective film than ABC's The Day After(1983) made for a tiny fraction of the budget. Somehow nuclear war seems less frightening in the Era of Trump.

The good news for Springsteen fans is the announced impending release of Tracks 2: The Unreleased Albums, in various formats. 7 discs. The bad news? Amazon shows a pre-release price for the CD version of $299. Too rich for my blood; pass.

Listening to Live At Leeds by the Who (1970). Next week will be the 55th(!) anniversary of this performance. Still sounds great, of course, but with every reissue it gets longer; the original 39 minute LP runs nearly three times that length on the most recent CD edition!
