Enquanto minha mãe reencontra a sua dor pelas fotografias, são as palavras que me fazem chorar. Quando pela minha mente ecoa a frase “meu irmão está morto” eu deixo de pensar em palavras e experimento brevemente como é apenas estar presente, sem nenhuma voz pairando sobre si.

It’s the same for me. Thanks to autism I’m able to focus non stop on something for many hours. From games, to books and work. It doesn’t matter. I’ve always struggled to stop and my body has been giving me signs this rhythm is not sustainable for years, but only now I started to pay attention.

Recently I got a wake up call regarding taking breaks and the law of diminishing returns. Started taking regular breaks this week and the effects on my health are noticeable.
