I chose this user name because we most need hope when we are close to despair. I am, in no particular order, a musician, an artist, a mother, a computer person, a Social Justice Bard, and a huge nerd. My pronouns are she/her. Gender non-compliant.
Even the LAPD is saying the protests are peaceful and managed (i.e it is not an uncontrolled insurrection requiring the national guard)

Do you know how fucking out of line you have to be, to be so authoritarian that the LAPD is siding with the protesters?!

I had company while working on the car the other day.

The bee seemed to be at a low ebb, so we gave it some water, and put a jar over it to keep it safe while we worked. After a while, we could hear buzzing, and it seemed more mobile and energetic, so we removed the jar and watched it crawl away.

Are you an Australian resident or citizen? Do you know any? Does anybody you know have any Australian contacts who would support asylum for the minorities being targeted by the current holders of power in the United States of America?

I woke up this morning to be told that a wild kangaroo had been visiting our yard, and shown pictures.

Then there was a cry of "it's back, and even closer to the house!" -- so here, have a video of the kangaroo in what used to be our chard garden.

It was not "just words" when bigots kept saying "go back where you came from" to indigenous residents of North America. 1/n

Spotted an Eastern Shingleback lizard (aka a stubbytail) while we were out restringing the Hills Hoist in our yard yesterday. I think that's one of the most Australian sentences I've ever written.

My husband and I have each come to the end of our rope, more than once. That's when the other one of us spins our rope out thinner and longer so we can cut a piece off and give it to the other.
