I chose this user name because we most need hope when we are close to despair. I am, in no particular order, a musician, an artist, a mother, a computer person, a Social Justice Bard, and a huge nerd. My pronouns are she/her. Gender non-compliant.

TRUMP’S MILITARY BIRTHDAY PARADE WAS A GROSS FAILURE

“The president’s military parade, which reportedly cost up to $45 million, was short on attendees, long on political speeches”

We’re closing in on the 3.5% rule! 8.6 million and counting! We’re in awe. Lots of events still happening make sure to be counted. Big towns, small towns you showed up.

I lived through the early years of the AIDS crisis. We lost so many, needlessly, to dehumanizing policies by government and health care organisations and providers alike.

It sickens me that I am seeing this abandonment to death happen again, all in the name of enforced cisheteronormativity.
From today until 16 June, Tate Modern will host the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Begun around 1989, this vast work consists of 42 quilts and 23 individual panels which represent 384 individuals affected by HIV and AIDS.

Even the LAPD is saying the protests are peaceful and managed (i.e it is not an uncontrolled insurrection requiring the national guard)

Do you know how fucking out of line you have to be, to be so authoritarian that the LAPD is siding with the protesters?!

Trump got up thinking, it's my Birthday! I'm getting a parade of soldiers, tanks, and marching bands because I'm so awesome!

Then millions of people took to the streets to rain on his parade.

When he turns on the TV tonight, that's what he's going to see on every channel.

Dealing with law enforcement can be stressful, so it’s important to know your rights before you’re face-to-face with ICE agents.

While there’s never any guarantee that law enforcement officers will follow the law, here’s what they can and can’t legally do to you and what you can legally demand. ⤵️

No one from the LGBTQIA+ community has ever knocked on my door and offered me pamphlets or invitations to come be gay with them. But religious people are always in my comments or at my door wanting me to pray to their god. So who’s shoving their agenda down whose throats?

Take a listen and seriously consider it. While this is not an uncommon practice, I am glad people are beginning to speak up about it.

If something happened in America, it's American history. That includes the parts people don't want to think about. "Knowing we stole land from Native Americans/stole people for the slave trade/stole property from incarcerated Japanese citizens makes me feel icky" is not a counterpoint to reality.

Every time I get sick— even “just a cold”— it makes ALL my chronic illnesses flare…

Every. Time.

I never return to a baseline anymore. Every flare becomes my new normal, to the point I can no longer walk independently.

We aren’t just making this shit up.

Your maskless faces are ruining my life.
“You’re already sick, what are you afraid of?”

This question is used to get disabled people to take unnecessary risks.

We’re afraid of losing our baseline.

It means everything to us. We are afraid of losing what small amount of function we have left.

No one protects your baseline like you will.
