Wonder if Progressive or GEICO is pleased with this setup. #mlb #SportsBiz

This dude has been gone almost a century, but you can still read his name.

An unintended consequence of the death of cursive writing is the fact that there are dedicated people on the internet that have to decode signatures because people can’t read them. If I were a celebrity I’d make sure to sign every letter of my name legibly so future generations would know.

Japanese Breakfast put on a fantastic show last night. A much needed few hours of “melancholy jubilee”. #ConcertThreads

It’s Jackie Robinson Day. @craigcalcaterra.bsky.social calling out MLB’s blatant hypocrisy is what I needed to start this morning off.

That’s not a Jeep in the background. I wonder if the Stellantis execs are upset right now… #SuperBowl

The one record I highly recommend getting from this year’s #RSD25 list is the 30th Anniversary Edition of Belly’s second album, King. This is one of those records that was under appreciated in 1995, but as the years pass and more discover it, it’s recognized as a brilliant piece of art. #VinylSky

With TikTok going bye bye, I figured I’d post one of the few TikToks I did that I actually like. #Vinylrecords #Lego

FACT: It’s logistically impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to “Second Nature” by Dan Hartman. #VinylSky

Continuing my albums of the year: Nilufer Yanya — “My Method Actor”.
The best description of her music comes from my friend Matt who said her sound is “if Sade fronted an indie rock band.”
If that doesn’t convince you to give it a listen, I don’t know what else to say.

Next up for my albums of the year is The Last Dinner Party - “Prelude To Ecstasy”
I was blown away by this record. “Burn Alive” and “The Feminine Urge” are highlights and that’s before you even get to the lead single, “Nothing Matters” which is ELEVENTH in the playlist if you listen in order. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Continuing with my albums of the year, Jack White’s “No Name”. Quietly slipped into bags at TMR one day with no info or notice. I immediately put it on and listened front to back. Just me and the music. No liner notes or even a tracklist. The most analog of experiences and it was great.

Going to post my 2024 Albums Of The Year over the next few days. These are in no particular order—I don’t like rankings. Today is “Forever” by Charly Bliss. “Calling You Out” and “I’m Not Dead” are the songs that make me sing at the top of my lungs. Give it a listen!

Had a blast last night at Schuler Books talking 90s music and signing copies of “The 501 Essential Albums of the 90s”. The audience got to hear my argument for Belly’s “Star” album to be included as well. We signed an extra 10 copies so you can still get yours!

It’s here! The 501 Essential Albums of the 90s is out! Thank you to Gary Graff for editing my fanboy musings about Garbage, PJ Harvey, Oasis, The Breeders and more. If you’re in the Detroit area on November 13th, come to Schuler Books at 6:30pm to hear me and my fellow contributors talk 90s music!
