All that guacamole folks want for the Super Bowl, enjoy it while you can. The largest producer of Hass Avocados is Mexico. U.S. imports 90% from there. Fl and CA are the biggest in country producers. Tariffs & deporting more than half of the ag. workforce, the salad days of avocados may be over.

Mexico sending aid in response to the fires. Not that we deserve the help. But unlike our newly elected fearless leader, this is what an ally looks like. Mexico didn’t demand a couple of states in exchange for helping. They just helped.

Anita Bryant has died. I was in Fl in 1977 when she ran her vile anti-LGBTQIA+ campaign. It was dangerous to be out in those days. Her actions made bigots bolder and some took it as a mandate to do real physical harm to bodies and property. I hope she has the afterlife she earned.
