Like, people always go "mastodon has this and it doesn't cause abuse!" for a billion values of "this" and then I get to make people mad at me again by explaining that Mastodon has 11 active users and 4 of them can't see the other 7 because of server-level blocks so it's not an example of anything

Used to be that guy. Then at about the same both my brother and I realized we weren't fine. Was a bit of an epiphany really and it changed my life.

Not that Google is better or anything but it's one less evil corporation on the books. It's ironic that I am slowly de-googling and did this but even YouTube Premium is on the list. Google will take longer to decouple and this didn't increase my money to them. Cold comfort for sure.

Honestly, just about any of 60 dollar ones on Amazon will work. I've had 3 or 4 of them at different gigs and never had an issue. I'm currently using an unbranded 4 computer 2 monitor KVM that was the cheapest on the page when I searched with no issues.
