Today is #WorldChimpanzeeDay in memory of the first day that #JaneGodall started her long-term study on the Gombe chimpanzees in 1960. 65 years of following the chimps at the shore of Lake Tanganyika. Today chimpanzees are endangered to get extinct. The Western chimpanzee is critically endangered.

This is what we need: criminalizing creation of disinformation. As Pierre-Henri Gouyon said follow the money lto know if results hold an independent test. Oil and chemical industry will fuel any doubt in climate change and biodiversity loss due to their actions.

When chimpanzee Emma died in Jan 2018 and we were able to extract the first brain of a wild #chimpanzee for postmortem MRI scans, none of us thinking we would find such an arcuate fascicle ... thanks to @lirsamuni.bsky.social who was with Emma to the bitter end 🙏
