Most of our poisonous plants do have pretty dangerous-sounding names, though. Death Camas, Water Hemlock, Baneberry. The only real exception is Jimsonweed but most people also know it as 'Devil's Trumpet' so 🤷

There's a cactus in my region with spines that are really small and detach super easily so touching one means you're almost certain to have a cactus splinter under your skin for a week until it flushes out and it's painful as all hell.
We call it a Teddy Bear cactus.

I once saw someone type out 'Einsatzbaijan' during the Azeri-Armenian war and when I read it light shot out of my eyes and I ascended to the 5th dimension. MSE is great.

This was John Norman's entire ouvre. Pat Califa's essay in the foreword to Imaginative Dex about the strange intersection between kink/fetish literature and political belief was always very interesting to me for exactly that reason.

Once I'm caught up on commissions I'll go back to writing my own stories on FimFiction. The question is, do I continue on with my story of Chrysalis shrinking down Equestria and keeping landmarks and ponies as her teeny pets, or should I try my hand at the macro Shining Armor story I had planned?

Would love to read it! I've personally kicked around the idea of a Shining story involving some kind of Discord shenanigans, but I've just never had the discipline to sit down and write it. Maybe one of these days.
