Having moved in with his new "wife," her mother, and his new partner's 3 children, all of whom are Black Muslims, Cupp aka Walid, claimed to have converted to Islam and became somewhat prolific on social media creating lengthy video rants disparaging Jews and making pro-Hitler and racist posts.

Until his recent return to Portland, Cupp appears to have been living with his mother in Florida where he worked at a Wal-Mart. It appears he was able to transfer to an Oregon based Wal-Mart and moved back across the country to live with a new partner who he addresses in social media as his wife.

John Paul Cupp, Jillian Hoy, and Joshua Sutter were involved in pro-North Korea organizing. Hoy and Sutter organized under a few different Juche groups with one established as early as 2003 by Sutter. In November 2004, Sutter created the "Rural People's Party"

Cupp aka Walid, is perhaps most known for his relationship with Jilian Hoy, wife to neo-Nazi Joshua Sutter. According to the late Nate Thayer, the three met in December 2007 in South Carolina. In early 2008, Cupp fell in love with Hoy & claimed to be engaged w/her (a claim Hoy would later deny).

It's unclear if John Paul Cupp, aka Walid, is still in a relationship w/the woman he moved back to OR for as he states on social media that he is alternating between sleeping in cheap hotels in north Portland and the sidewalks by the ICE detention center.
