My October reads! Didn’t stick to pure horror like I thought I would, but I enjoyed all of them. Aside from Circe which was incredible as a given, Hekla’s Children surprised me the most, and Queen Demon and the Curse Bearer series were such cosy comfort reads.

From yesterday’s rounds: plump milkweed pods and strikingly yellow goldenrod (which the bees were ecstatic about!) It’d just rained and was so humid it felt like I was trekking through the amazon rainforest

Saw some gorgeous smooth sumac for the first time out in the field! Thought it looked a bit funky as I’m used to seeing the staghorn kind.

So many beech nuts! They’re a tasty treat in autumn, but it’s a bit of a faff getting them open when the edible bits are so tiny

那古観音寺の道・The road at Nago Kannon temple. I took this photo after having climbed several old stone staircases to the top of the mountain and back. Slinked my way down this final staircase as it was particularly steep and stoney and lead straight into oncoming traffic. #千葉県 #写真 #japan #photography
