New components: long-awaited Treemap, Plotline & Plotband, Rolling Pin Legend. Revamped Gantt Timeline component. New Line, Graph, and Axis features.

Big news for cosmos.gl — the core layout and rendering library behind cosmograph.app — it is going completely open source (MIT) and joining the OpenJS Foundation openjsf.org

📏 Axis now automatically hides overlapping labels — a small tweak that makes a big difference — and supports label rotation for improved readability.

🪧 Tooltips have also been enhanced — they can now be anchored to target elements, hovered over, and display dynamic content.

🎄 Solid @solidjs.com integration! Compatibility with React 19 and Angular 19.

🔗 Graph is now highly customizable: you can provide custom node rendering functions, adjust the layout, and overlay additional elements on the canvas.

I really like looking at how topics change over time. It's a bit noisy, but it still gives you some understanding of what events have happened and how they are connected.

Physics simulation is the most enjoyable part of creative coding / data vis (at least for me). It brings so much joy to the dev process.

Looks like BlueSky and the data vis community are having a moment right now!

I came across this awesome aurora.ndimensional.xyz visualization by @syntacrobat.xyz today showing a network graph of 7.7M BlueSky users 🤯
