The founder of the largest Twitter blocklist in the 2014 gamergate era came to regret it, as it was in instances used to exact revenge and purity-testing. Be extremely careful with the powers you delegate.
Good reminder that blocklists are put together by any of us and might not match your own views.
After accidentally blocking some bystanders with one a few months ago, I made sure to start reviewing them in detail.

I've had to become really careful about the blocklists I subscribe to -- I keep missing posters I like, including @kevinmkruse.bsky.social, who made it onto both a "transphobes" list and a "toxic" list. I wish there was an easy way to check whether blocklists are sweeping up your follows!
