Finished the Great Deku Tree (breath of the wild version, of course). It was a fairly simple build without too many surprises. There are a ton of nods to the series in it that made me smile every time I found one. #Lego has been at the top of their game lately.

It’s neat to have this information from the new Nintendo store app, but I’m convinced some of the numbers aren’t right. It shows a whole lot at just over one hour when I’m sure I played them for at least 10 and I think there’s at least one missing from the over 50. Still, pretty neat!

Building the Great Deku Tree, which is making me want to start playing Breath of the Wild again.
Hestu's maracas work, since there is a tiny loose piece in each one.

The d-pad and the buttons work! The on-off switch and the volume and contrast dials work!

The Lego store had some cute Lunar New Year’s kits like this lucky cat. There’s an orange tree that balcony to get, but one thing at a time 😂.
I also got a couple more substantial builds that I’ll get to once I’m finished grading finals.

Trails from Zero. I love the way it looks: the chibi-esque character models and the anime-style portraits are my aesthetic. Systems seem both easy to understand and deeper than they appear. Characters are charming and the world feels lived-in and real. Looking forward to spending more time here.

Day 6 of my self-imposed 7 day challenge. Leg day should not be skipped even if squats are the tools of evil spirits.
This will always be my #2 game of the year, every year. It's Nintendo at their most experimental and I hop they never stop doing weird stuff like this.

Day 6 of my self-imposed 7 day challenge. Leg day should not be skipped even if squats are the tools of evil spirits.

My game of the year for 2024 is the only one I played that was actually released in 2024. It's Shiren the Wanderer: Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, and it's high on my "favorites of all time" list. It's better than it's ever been and well worth the price.

These are my daily workhorse fountain pens. The left one is a Hero medium nib used for correcting student work. Red ink, of course.
The right is Parker with a fine point nib. It’s my regular note taking and journaling tool.

I chose the "abs" exercise group today. I usually choose my own set so these last couple of days have been a nice change of pace. More cardio than I expected, but there's nothing wrong with that!
