Always in a sweat. Also, sorry, I never use that chat key. I'm not a good recipient for hot tips, or hotness of any type. Also, should say, if you support the Gaza genocide, don't reply to me. I'll block you. .
There are two sides to Epstein's operation. One was, obviously, raping and exchanging underage girls. The other, though, was money laundering and the manipulation of offshore accounts. We are all exploring the first vis a vis Trump. But the second is as interesting... vis a vis Trump.

Need this energy today, as we observe America's plutocracy in its "one degree away from Epstein" shenanigans.
DO: Run as a progressive with an actionable agenda.

DON’T: Pull a gun on a pregnant woman in a parking lot
Katie Wilson wins Seattle mayoral race, incumbent Bruce Harrell appears to be preparing to concede

The exciting race for Mayor of Seattle can now be called. With almost no ballots left to count, challenger Katie Wilson has an advantage that incumbent Bruce Harrell cannot overcome.

We've known who knows this shit for a long time. But the NYT, for its own reasons (the same reasons that incite the Times to lather Elon Musk in glowing coverage) doesn't care.

I always knew that Larry Summers fucked over America. But I always thought that was metaphorical. Obama's elevation of Larry Fucking Summers to economic czar has to be one of the worst choices a Dem prez ever made - well, until Biden and his DOJ.

I do find it a bit funny that the week after an election in NYC in which MAGA went all out on Zohran Mamdani's supposed "support" for jihadists, Trump hosts a real member of Al Qaeda at the White House. And there's crickets from the press.

When the anti-vax crowd was "doing their own research", they were not doing it by using some elegant cross-checking, historically founded method. They were googling. A good start! But like stepping inside a library, also a good start, you have to know where you go next.

I find the meme "do your own research" a stab in the right direction - the direction of a Deweyan utopia. Instead of "don't do your own research", the response should be: there are many methods to researching, and you should know a bit about them before you do this noble thing: researching.

The winner!
The Constitution says a senator must be at least 30 years old, so I can't understand how we have all these senators who were born yesterday.

Moderate Dems often present themselves as canny pragmatists. Okay, it is well possible that more lefty Dems are less canny. But when you see that moderate dems surrender even on the things moderate dems say they are passionate about, you begin to reconsider tht pragmatism.

If the real story about the parties in 2026 is: Gop defeat, I wonder if we will see the emergence of trad-Republicans, quoting Reagan about tariffs, George H.W. Bush about the environment, and Trump himself about abortion rights. The trad-Republicans could make a comeback. Shocking Newsmax.

It does not surprise me - sad sad sad - that the nation that watched Gaza starve and acted as an accessory while denying it was happening is now the country starving its own people.
The bum's wisdom - what goes around comes around - is an iron rule in historiography. It cannot be escaped.

Often one reads that Foucault romanticized insanity, and this is why he pisses people off. I don't believe that.

I believe he pisses people off because he refuses to romanticize sanity. He refuses the unspoken agreement, among men of good will, that we are all sane here.

Coincidence looms out there for the storyteller and novelist. It seems to be a physicalist cheat - and yet doesn't it also describe a real fact?

This is the best tiktok ever. Or, to use the au courant phrase: these people are doing tiktok right!
I've seen this go by a few times on TikTok now and I have to say, I love this idea. We need a way to convince people to keep running even if they don't win, maybe building the loss into it as a troll move is the secret.

Okay, time for the Repubicans in disarray headline. No? Crickets? Gee, I know if this was a red wave day, the Dems would definitely be in disarray. But Republicans, being all Daddy warbucks and strong and shit, are never in disarray! We have a joke media, but its the blight everywhere.

The 2 elections that I think signal something even deeper going on out there is the big Muddy - the U.S. wasteland - is the election of 2 Ds in statewide Ga. and 2 Ds in the Miss. My crazy belief is that gerrymandering won't do it for the GOP - an economy this rotten will take them down.

Looking at the Cheney news - fucker's dead! - on bluesky, I realized that the five people that Harris was trying to appeal to by becoming besties with the war criminal are on bluesky! The entire demographic. Also, the million or so peeps who hate the bastard are on bluesky.

I do want everybody to go to heaven. And cast off the blood they shed. But as an earthling: so sweet that the devil finally took Dick Cheney home! In the words of Psalm 6
Ith' mid'st of all mine enemies that mark.
Depart all ye that work iniquitie.
Depart from me, for the voice of my weeping

The "moderate" loser is the trope of our time. They have grand plans for winning! All depends on big tentness. That they have lost for almost 25 years with this program while non-big tent ultra-rightists win escapes their attention completely. The New Yorker's latest issue is a great example.

It is time to start arresting ICE troopers. If they do illegal things, if they use force they are not empowered to use, arrest them. Many of them, all of them who abuse their position.

Usually, where a figure comes from in the private sector tells you something about what they will do in the public sector. An oilman, elected President, will favor oil. Trump, though: an international resorts guy, has presided over a 14 % downturn in travel here. He's done this on purpose. Weird.

What a strange couple of months: we've moved from banning people who blaspheme Charlie Kirk's sacred name to his widow and the VP fucking on a dais to the tune of Onward Christian Soldiers. Truly, we are in the hell of Public Burning, and Robert Coover is our prophet.

Anti-modern. This is the term Jacques Le Rider turns to repeatedly in his biography of Karl Kraus. Which is entitled, somewhat contrarily, Karl Kraus: lighthouse and flame thrower of Viennese Modernity.
