This is how the US stock market reacted to Trump's press secretary confirming that on Feb 1 (US time), 25% tariffs will be applied to Mexico and Canada. Also, a 10% tariff on China. I'm unclear if that's 10% on top of existing China tariffs or the total effective tariff.

It always amazes me that Health Department statistics are not as credible as Actuaries. We are a money driven society and actuaries have money on it. The data itself is only surprising for those who are not paying attention.

Dear Trump, once a crook always a crook according to the law. Your conviction stands and now to see if there will be sentencing. Probation, delayed sentencing... but no wiping of your criminal record.

Trump says "Drill baby drill!" but the USA is getting less out of its ground from traditional means than ever and the new "tight oil" or "shale oil", is the only production growth method. Easy oil is over. Trump's sabotage of renewables is just in time to make the future a true energy crisis.
