I weirdly like that movie, particularly when it settles down and gets legit Ad Astra-ish in the second half.

We don't exactly live in an era that does subtle distinctions that well.

You can tell a movie made be people whose longest walk is across the studio parking lot, because nobody deals with blisters.

Also I didn't think any movie was going to make me scared of Judy Greer but damn.

And I believe that's what most of the reviews said.

Perfect visual storytelling. Also, the film as a whole exemplifies a type I of movie I really love - the period film with exacting detail but nonetheless plays as totally NOW!

The '70s version would have had Sandy Dennis or someone in it and lots of zoom shots of dew-soaked leaves and had dialogue that sounded like things actual people would say.

Maybe it's, like, a metaphor for how the crowd is you the viewer.
