New publication!

We Modelled the distribution of eight primate species in the Yabssi Key Biodiversity Area, and used the results to make recommendations for conservation planning across the landscape.

When curiosity meets curiosity👀😊

These two #chimpanzees paused to inspect our #camera trap📷, reminding us that observation goes both ways. They didn’t just pass by. They investigated, offering a glimpse into their world and perhaps wondering about ours.

I recently visited the Mbam & Djerem National Park in Cameroon. A stunning blend of forest & savanna with an exceptional widlife and habitat diversity - a powerful reminder of why conservation matters. Let's protect Earth's treasures! #ConservationJourney @consbiogoe.bsky.social

We showed how hunting patterns change dynamically with respect to human and landscape‐related features. We also demonstrated complex hunting patterns along the gradient of human influence, therefore questioning the use of proxies such as the distance to the village to account for hunting pressure.

Thrilled to share our newly published paper and my first first-author paper. We used hunting sign data from long-term monitoring in the Ebo forest, Littoral-Cameroon, to explore the spatiotemporal patterns of hunting activities.

When planning wildlife conservation with local communities, I value this species just as much as I value flagship species such as chimpanzees and elephants. Their high resilience to hunting helps in absorbing the hunting pressure, allowing other less resilient species to thrive.

It was amazing to learn that Europe was once so rich in mammals of various sizes.
Thanks for the interesting talk @jcsvenning.bsky.social
