Indecipherable screeching. Once: Game writing at Game Informer, Paste, places you never heard of. Now: Game, 3D art, and IRL tinkering.
I built a beefy home work station because I saw this coming, but it's worse than I expected. RAM, GPU, CPU, Flash storage, and Motherboards have all jumped in price either to gouge consumers in an inflating market (CPU, MB) or because of AI horse shit (RAM, GPU, Flash).

And I've spent the last 10 hours farming resources to make paper products to unlock gear sets and consumables to advance through the game. Never encountered a game that rewards you so little for actually playing it.

If you read out everything in the game on paper it's just banger after banger. Vampire lord. ARPG inspired. Great character designs. Bunch of bosses. Sunlight mechanic. Build your castle. Minions system. Mounts.

I feel bad for hating on what is a pretty looking game, but man, the gameplay is rough. Shallow compared to its obvious inspirations, glacially paced from movement to progression and everywhere in between. All the evidence you need that the best idea in the world just aren't enough.

As a keyboard maximalist, I am jealous that all the keyboard minimalists get cool little scroll wheels and screens and I get "idk this one has some macro keys on it you'll never use".

Idk why we live in a world where normal people are willing to cede ground to ravenous, ghoulish freaks on the idea that a bunch of workers attempting to stop their families from starving to death so demons in skin suits could profit was somehow bad and we must resist being compared to them.

Btw, shout outs to Xencelabs for just making a really good tablet that isn't obscenely priced and also having their device management software just work on basically every possible configuration of laptop/desktop I've had since I got it. Which is dozens at this point.
