I still think Zed's patronizing "you really should use AI before you decide you don't want to" spiel on their website is insulting bullshit, but the fact that the AI shit goes away when you turn it off and the outline panel in the sidebar have sold me on never opening VSCode again.

It does say (future) on the website, but if they launch the desktop app without those hooks then it might actually be extremely feasible. They definitely want it though:

This is some absolute S tier bullshit. No, in fact, I do not want to "build" with your dog shit "agent mode". This isn't even main VS Code, it's the OSS fork, this is supposed to be the light weight version. Why the fuck is this shit in here by default?

I have slightly miscalculated on the length needed for the handle of my Bob Barker microphone. Also I am just straight ass at designing threads.

This is an absolutely diabolical diagram to find in a manual for an arcade cab. The only "parts" here being the entire assembly and a potentiometer is actually unhinged. There's wear components in there, and they're like "idk replace the whole thing".

Giving up on football is already yielding results. One day I will pay for not properly parametrizing or naming things in my CAD files, but today is not that day. (It's probably tomorrow.)

This phone alert that allows cops to harass people states away for no fucking reason is absolutely absurd. I am in fucking Charlotte, two states away, why are y'all screeching at me? I don't get alerts for crimes in my area but I get this because cops are trying to scare people.

Linux Update: I installed Hyprland to try out the latest and greatest. Got it working despite my Nvidia GPU. Except, it has murdered my Sway install, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how Hyprpaper is mal-configured and refusing to load wallpapers.

I'm still considering a switch to Zed, because Microsoft does a gigaton of damage every day, but this is a hot pile of dogshit. Like yeah, it is part of software dev, and so is a heart threatening amount of caffeine and uppers, but that doesn't make that a good thing.
