Sky Shark (NES)
A vertical scrolling shmup where you fly a warplane. Sometimes known as Flying Shark on other releases.
Notable for being one of Tim Follin’s earliest NES soundtracks.

Klustar (GBC)
Kinda like Tetris, but pieces come from the sides toward the middle, and you form squares to clear it. You rotate the middle chunk, not the Tetris blocks. It’s made very basic & not fun at all.
Also, hope you like hearing a long loop of bad Home On the Range.

Steins;Gate (PS3)
A visual novel that takes an interesting approach to time travel. After establishing the premise in the first third, it hits the ground running with a very tightly paced story, in my opinion.

Ogre Battle 64 (N64)
One of three N64 games I have the box for, and I was super lucky to find it for a reasonable price 15 years ago.
I’d say this is my favorite game on the system! Not the style of game you got much of on the N64.

Lunar: Silver Star Story (Saturn)
I bought a copy of this Japanese Saturn version from @japanretrodirect.bsky.social not too far back. He runs a good online shop!
I am a big fan of Lunar. I cannot own too much Lunar. Love this game.

It is Hanwha's first time since 2006 making it to the finals. They're hoping to win their second championship, with the previous one in 1999.
They'll face the first place LG Twins, who won in 2023.

I can try to get the best ending still, and see if I can work to a 1cc on the higher difficulties next.

They clinched a spot a while ago, but the season is officially done now.
Eagles last made the playoffs in 2017, and that's the only time over the past 17 years. This is their best season since 1992. This is huge for them.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES)
This has such a unique style. The main characters are so early ‘90s. And there are many references to mainstream horror movies & B-movie horror.
Also an incredibly challenging game. The fear of losing a run is actual-scary among the funny-scary.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360)
When this came out, I heard folks say “this is the best 3D CV game!”
me: “Wow! I love Castlevania 64! Can’t wait to play an even better 3D game in this series”
I was pretty underwhelmed though. Don’t actually remember much about it anymore!

Chrono Cross (PS1)
The first time I ever bought a game on the day of release was Chrono Cross. I was so excited for this.
I also bought the soundtrack a couple years later, as part of my first ever online purchase. (Online shopping was still a novel thing at that time)

Bust-A-Move ‘99 (N64)
It’s a Puzzle Bobble game! These are always solid fun. Popping this into the system is never a bad choice.

Everybody’s Golf 6 (Vita)
It’s crazy how fun this series makes golf. I can always boot this up and just play a round, and everything feels so satisfying. A great Vita game for on the go.
I haven’t played the newest game yet, but I hope it’s great too.

Mega Man 8 (PS1)
8 mainline games, plus some X games and many others, in just 10 years? Holy cow.
Mega Man still being a franchise after 10 years made it seem like it would never die. And I loved them all.
But now, we could go a full 10 years with no new Mega Man games. Dang.

Street Fighter 2010 (NES)
Remember when we thought the future year of 2010 would be robotic Ken Masters punching aliens and plant monsters?
Instead, we got Super Street Fighter 4. A little different from how we expected the world of 15 years ago to turn out.

Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2018 (aka Power Pro Baseball 2018) (Vita)
The Power Pro games are super fun. They’re cute, but the baseball plays accurately & fun. There are many modes, some with the NPB league, but others with things like boardgames or original characters/stories.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator (PS3)
Maybe not totally random because I am fighting game brain this weekend.
Xrd is an incredible fighting game. Play it.
I won money playing Windjammers at Shuto Con back in the day, which completely covered this purchase.
