Lovely autumnal visit to @nationaltrust.org.uk Saltram with the kids this week. Great trees and autumnal colours, and a beastly beings trail that had actual proper (local) folklore. All ended with an obligatory cream tea.

I spent 40 years campaigning for supporters' rights, was a founder member of the FSA and wrote extensively about the tensions between 'proper' fans, hooligans & police. I crossed swords with clubs & politicians. I never thought a top Tory would publicly support the boot boys as 'good natured fun'.

Sad news. Went on her radio programme on BBC Hereford and Worcester many years ago with my History man slot on a Saturday morning. Some people very impressed by my meeting 'TV Am royalty '!

Sitting down to watch the Rugby Challenge Cup final, cheering on Hull KR v Warrington. Sadly not at Wembley this year when I made the trip.

Judge just summarily dismissed his case.

Fountains Abbey Parkrun is regarded as one of the most picturesque parkruns & l finally made it as I'm up for my Mum's 80th birthday. Atmospheric with the mist over the abbey & very enjoyable
