Happy to see someone thinking up map creation processes beyond "have you considered plate tectonics?"

Oh, if RSS is still standard, I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the correction and recommendation!

Thanks! I'll check that out. I've read good stuff on that blog but never perused the sidebar.

Bookmarks feel clunky. RSS feeds probably aren't universally provided. Sometimes I'd rather not go through social media as an intermediary.

Even on the other side of the screen, describing rooms with your mapper in mind takes a bit to get into a groove. Very rewarding when everyone gets the hang of it.

Either that or the players need to be able to either glean more information from the dungeon itself or better, more specific information from the rumor table to start bridging into that mental space, seeing as this is a beginner module.

Reaction rolls from B/X should've been restated somewhere in the text because this dungeon design really puts a damper on the faction play idea that's suggested before the dungeon keys are laid out.

With how the caverns are structured, which say you're going to run into a guard room no matter which way you turn, it's designed for a fight to break out from the get-go without some other intervention. I wouldn't fault a GM looking at the room descriptions and running it that way.

Yeah, everything has to be paced so quickly to feel like you've gotten anything done. I want time for the goofy sidebars and diversions that make play fun.

Agreed. It's so much less of a spreadsheet game, and it's much better off for it.

I didn't think they could improve this much over the first game, but oh did they find a way.

Awesome, thank you!

This is such a savage takedown lol

Losing the easy collaboration access will suck, but hopefully avoiding full core meltdown is enough of an upside.

Yeah, the claim looks to hinge on implied setting concerning magic item availability. A fair point, but not the best evidence to make that sweeping of a claim when the rest of 5e is essentially 3.5 streamlined.

Enshittification has no bounds. No need to resource optimize when your audience is locked in.
