Lately, when I do lineless, I've been setting up my shading like this:
1) Make a base layer for all the shadows.
2) Color and mask a layer for each base color's shadow, then clip it to the base shadow.

This way, I can erase/paint on the base shadow without having to recolor anything!

This is done by clipping colored layers, each with their own mask corresponding to the base color they're for, to the shadow layer. This way, you can edit the shadow layer without having to worry about changing the colors of each section.

I recently took Character Design for Video Games w/ Ahmad Beyrouthi at @warriorartcamp.bsky.social I wanted to make a character that covered topics I don't often explore on my own & wound up with this guy! Ahmad is an awesome teacher, I grew a lot in just 7 weeks with him and the others in the class
