Yes thank you for saying this! I have seen this a few places and it’s misleading. The $2k limit is a terrible policy but it doesn’t apply to most people getting social security retirement benefits or who became disabled after having worked.

If we believe “oh yes we must make cuts SOMEWHERE” then we’ve accepted their dishonest terms. The Federal govt is not a household. It is not a business.

We know that cutting funding to federal agencies is not about saving money but about consolidating power.

And also! “Saving money” is for individuals, households, private businesses, local governments … and uniquely NOT the job of the Federal government.

Don’t allow them that excuse.
