Speaking as someone with an old massive walnut tree in front of the house, that's not the greatest idea. I didn't remove the leaves one year and the grass under there got pattern baldness and the exposed bare dirt makes the area dusty and more vulnerable during droughts.Usually I rake it and compost

That is not to say we should be rude to each other – in general I think we can get by without using insults – but still.

As I was reading through all these, I was thinking that. Ultimately we are the ones who decide the meaning of words. People get really hung up on a word's history and it's past connotations, but language evolves with its users.
