It's ok that the manager who is good at coming in mid season & improving bad teams slightly (not Amorim) is not the same person as the manager who is the right person to take this group forward (maybe Amorim). Otherwise the likes of Alladyce, Pardew, Pulis, Dyche would have achieved a lot more.

It's ok that the manager who is good at coming in mid season & improving bad teams slightly (not Amorim) is not the same person as the manager who is the right person to take this group forward (maybe Amorim). Otherwise the likes of Alladyce, Pardew, Pulis, Dyche would have achieved a lot more.
It's not always the case but sometimes the context of a certain scenario allows a club to make a decision (sacking Amorim) based on the outlook of what's to come rather than judging on past performance.

The Brentford loss looks less farcical tonight. The Sunderland win looks all the more impressive. Arsenal performance is back to looking promising. 6 pts out of last year's top 4. A goalkeeper that seemingly doesn't feel the need to throw one in his own net.

Could well be, but I quietly think that everybody has gone extraordinarily early with all these Amorim takes. The theatre of the Grimsby game (and the memes) gave people license to lose the run of themselves. It's literally August. Ultimately, his inflexibility prob kills him but still.

And as good as this might sound, if Hojlund comes good this season and scores goals in a side that continue to struggle to control games, spending this money on somebody who isn't a top class midfielder is a bad move from Utd. That being said, I think midfield improves this year regardless

The idea he should be given up on and sold to be replaced by another raw 22 year old is crazy, dreamland stuff. What makes anybody think that this new 22 year old won't have similar experiences re settling in time. If Sesko is to be signed, the idea should be to compete with each other.
