If I were any good at posting thoughts on social media, I would recap every episode or write some takes on what happened. But I’m just watching and enjoying.

Well, how about that? MAX has brought back The West Wing about a week after removing it from its streaming service. How did I find out? I went to Apple TV to watch the next episode, and it didn’t play the episode I purchased. It took me to the MAX app to watch it there.

Of course, this typically ends once the season starts and disappointment sets in once again. But we will watch every game. Listen to postgame shows. Listen to Bears podcasts. Wash, rinse, repeat. Let’s go!

Then we get excited about spring practices, training camp, and the upcoming season. All of which leads to predicting the Bears will win games and make the playoffs.

Btw, this skeet prompted me to listen to So Much for the Afterglow. Love that album.

Anyway, after a few days, I found the entire series on Apple TV for $40. I’m now on Season 3 episode 18.

At this point, I’m hooked. I had forgotten how good the writing and acting was on this show. Or how the relevant issues today were the same issues 20 years ago.

Started looking around for where I could continue streaming, and it’s nowhere. Hopped on Reddit. Apparently, it’s been known for a while that The West Wing was leaving Max at year-end.

Was watching Season 3 episode 4 on New Year’s Eve. Paused to ring in the new year with the family. Started back up at around 12:30am and The West Wing is no longer available on Max.

“We are going to have to cut that scene. It’s a little too on the nose.”

Yes. And if the Bears had drafted Patrick Mahomes in 2017 over Mitch Trubisky, he would have looked more like the 2024 version of Caleb Williams than the great player he became with the Chiefs.
